Steve Marshall is the Senior Assistant Instructor for Lifesaving Resources' Ice Rescue Technician courses. He is the Chief of the Washington (New Hampshire) Police Department, and has been a police officer in NH for nearly 25 years, serving with the Claremont, Alton, and Sunapee Police Departments. Steve is a Captain/EMT-I with the Sunapee (New Hampshire) Fire Department and serves as an adjunct instructor for the New London EMS Department teaching EMT and CPR classes as well as an EMT on the hospital-based ambulance service. Steve has been a nationally and NH licensed EMT for 25 years. He has a BS degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University, and an MBA from Plymouth State College. Steve also holds certifications as a PADI SCUBA diver, National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care, is aNH level III Professional Emergency Manager designation, as well as the FEMA Emergency Management Professional Development Series. He has recently been awarded the NH Congressional Law Enforcement Award. Steve has been married for over 23 years, and has two daughters and 2 grandchildren. For fun, he enjoys ice hockey, skiing and camping.

Scot Peterson is Vice President for Angel Guard Products, Inc., manufacturer of the Rescue Alive Ice Rescue Platform, Pick-of-Life Ice Awls, and the WaterRescue Jaws. In addition to his work with Lifesaving Resources as an Ice Rescue Technician, Water Rescue Technician, and Swiftwater Rescue Course Instructor, Scot works closely with other ice rescue equipment manufacturers, local, state and federal agency ice and water rescue trainers to develop new equipment and course curriculum. Scot is a Class III Certified Ice Rescue Instructor for the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, Dive Rescue International, and the Ontario Fire College. Scot also serves as an adjunct instructor for the New York State Fire Academy, Toronto Police Marine Unit, and the Iowa Community College system. Scot served 8 years (1980 - 1988) in New England as a Boatswain's Mate for the United States Coast Guard doing small boat search and rescue, and was stationed in Providence, Rhode Island, and worked out of Newport, Woods Hole, Point Judith, and Block Island. He is a certified PADI SCUBA Diver, an Open Water Rescue Instructor, and an avid whitewater and surf kayaker.

Richard D. Carlson, Jr. has been a police officer for over 25 years and his career and experience encompasses urban, rural, and suburban municipal law enforcement. Rich is currently the senior Seargeant with the Leonia, Bergen County (New Jersey) Police Department and is responsible for the development, instruction, and coordination of training for the Police Department, as well as instructing specialized training for the Fire and Ambulance services. Rich is an active Instructor in various Police Academies, community colleges, and universities throughout New Jersey. Rich has a B.S. and M.A. from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (NY), and has an extensive background in all levels of aquatics. Rich has over 30 years of volunteer service for the American Red Cross, and as been recognized as an Instructor, Instructor Trainer, and is currently a Director Administrator of Instructor Trainers for Water Safety and Lifeguarding, as well as CPR, First Aid, and AED Programs. As a professional Lifeguard and aquatic facility manager, Rich pioneered many innovative aquatic rescue and in-service training programs for both swimming pool and waterfront facilities. He is also a part-time member of the Marine Patrol for his lake region in New Jersey. Rich is a professional swim team coach at the high school, recreation club and YMCA levels, and competes in the U.S. Masters Swimming Program.

John Hill has been on faculty with Lifesaving Resources since 1999 as an Ice Rescue Instructor and Water Rescue Instructor. John is a professional Firefighter/EMT with the Hooksett Fire and Rescue Department in New Hampshire where he also serves as the Technical Rescue Coordinator for the department. John has been in he fire service since 1992 and has also worked as a career Firefighter in Brattleboro, Vermont. He currently works as a part-time Staff Instructor at the New Hampshire Fire Academy. John is certified to New Hampshire Firefighter 3 Rescue Specialist;, Haz-Mat Technician; Emergency Medical Technician; and also Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter. John has Associate degrees in both Fire Science, and Fire Investigations, and is currently working on a B.S in business management. For fun he rides a Harley Davidson motorcycle. |

Greg LeBlanc
Greg is a 2003 graduate of the Ice Rescue Train-the-Trainer Program and is the newest member of our Ice Rescue Training Programs Faculty. Greg is a Lieutenant and Emergency Medical Technician with the Northwood Fire and Rescue Department in Northwood, New Hampshire.
