MultipleLines.jpg HTP STATIC ROPES
Sterling first introduced HTP (high tenacity polyester) static in 1998. Since then, it has become a necessary and integral piece of equipment for most rescue organizations. HTP offers many notable advantages over standard nylon static ropes. This super-low elongation all polyester rope (less than 1% stretch per 300-pound load) resists moisture and provides greater durability than previously attainable. It offers greater resistance from UV and certain chemicals, has the highest tensile strengths for its size, and remains supple after repeated use. Very low stretch ropes are relatively new in the rescue community; however, based upon field research and actual rescue applications, polyester ropes may in fact be the best rope for many mainline raises and lowers and most trackline applications. These factors make it the rope of choice for highlines because it is very strong, remains supple, and requires no re-tensioning of the trackline. It also excels in making lowering and extrication systems more efficient because of its low stretch and high strength characteristics. HTP Static is a naturally dry product. The 7/16" and 1/2" feature the same 48-carrier sheath construction as our SuperStatic. Our 3/8" and 5/8" ropes are also unique, manufactured with a 40-carrier construction which provides a smoother sheath and with higher twist levels, yields a better handling, more durable rope.

RITLine.jpg RIT (RAPID INTERVENTION TEAM) TAG LINES
Throughout the years, firefighters have often faced difficult conditions when entering buildings during the course of fighting fires. These situations have caused firefighters to become disoriented, separated, or lost during primary search and rescue operations. Subsequently, if they were not attached to a line or a hose, or if their communications failed, it was difficult to locate them. With Sterling's new RIT Line, this doesn't have to happen. Available in 6.8mm and 8mm thickness, these ropes are constructed with an aramid sheath, which are high-tenacity yarns with very low stretch and very high melting or decomposition points. They are dense fibers, stiff in nature, very coarse and difficult to cut with scissors. Aramids are impervious to many chemicals that will destroy or disintegrate nylon or polyester.
