BaXstrap Spineboard
The BaXstrap Spineboard is ideal for EMS and Water Rescue operations and is engineered for maximum strength and designed for both patient and rescuer comfort. The BaXstrap has no seams which makes it easy to clean and decontaminate. The backboard includes strap holes for pediatric patients, eliminating the need to use towels to fill the extra space between patient and strap. Pins are molded into the board, maximizing their strength. The raised handholds make lifting easier for rescue personnel and are designed to maximize ground clearance. BaXstrap can be used with a Spider-Strap Immobilization System or with standard backboard straps (Loop-Loc or Speed-Clip). The SpeedBlocks Head Immobilizer is the perfect companion with the BaXstrap Spineboard, but BaXstrap will also accommodate most other head immobilizers, including the Lifesaving Resources' Lifesaver CID. This dual-colored polypropylene and Velcro immobilization system utilizes a mid-line strap, two diagonal straps which secure over the patient's shoulders, and 4 adjustable horizontal straps which secure across the patient's torso and lower extremities. The use of this system prevents lateral, head-to-foot, and anterior movement of the patient while secured to the backboard. Should airway management and suctioning be required, the patient can be safely turned on his/her side once immobilized without compromising the spine.

Straps attach to any backboard using Loop-Lok ends which loop through the backboard hand-holds. Other buckle types (i.e. metal push button, metal cam lever, plastic cam lever) and other strap systems (i.e. speed clip) and one-piece straps are also available. Note: Lifesaving Resources recommends an immobilization system which includes 2 cross-diagonal straps across the torso, 2 cross-diagonal straps across the hips, 1 horizontal strap across the thighs, and 1 horizontal strap across the lower legs.
