Online Ice Rescue or Water Rescue Awareness Course For First Responders

Have members of your department/agency become certified at the Awareness level in Ice Rescue or Water Rescue from your own day room and/or from home at a date selected by you.
These live and interactive Awareness courses consist of the classroom portion of the Lifesaving Resources Ice Rescue Technician curriculum or the Water Rescue Technician curriculum.
All courses are specifically designed for Public Safety and Rescue Professionals, including Law Enforcement, Fire, Rescue, and EMS personnel.
Both courses meet/exceed NFPA 1670 & NFPA 1006 Standards for Technical Rescue.
The Ice Rescue Awareness course requires approximately 3 hours to complete.
The curriculum represents the minimum level of operational capability required for the First Responder when responding to a rescue or recovery incident on or through the ice. This training will be beneficial to anyone responsible for Incident Command at the scene of an ice incident, as well as for all shore-based personnel.
Upon successful completion of the Ice Rescue Awareness course, the participant is awarded a Course Completion Certificate valid for 5 years from the course completion date. The graduate is then eligible to participate in the skills portion of the Ice Rescue Technician curriculum and must complete the skills portion within 1 year of receiving the Awareness level certification.
The Water Rescue Awareness course requires approximately 4.5 hours to complete.
The curriculum represents the minimum level of operational capability required for the First Responder when responding to a rescue or recovery incident in, on or around the water. This training will be beneficial to anyone responsible for Incident Command at the scene of a water rescue/recovery incident, as well as for all shore-based personnel.
Upon successful completion of the Water Rescue Awareness course, the participant is awarded a Course Completion Certificate valid for 5 years from the course completion date. The graduate is then eligible to participate in the skills portion of the Water Rescue Technician curriculum and must complete the skills portion within 1 year of receiving the Awareness level certification.
Lifesaving Resources’ Ice and Water Rescue training curriculums have developed and evolved over the past 30 years to produce comprehensive and internationally-recognized training curriculums for Fire, Rescue, EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel.
Lifesaving Resources’ Ice and Water Rescue Technician and Instructor candidates are trained based upon best practices and internationally-recognized standards. Policies, procedures and systems are in place to insure excellent training with limited predictable risk to course participants, faculty and staff. Furthermore, a system of trust and verify exists to ensure the outcome of well-trained Technicians and Instructors lead by highly qualified and well-trained faculty, instructors, and supervisors.
These courses meet/exceed NFPA 1670 and NFPA 1006 Standards for Technical Rescue. Awareness, Operations and Technician level certifications are valid for five (5) years from the course completion date, although annual skill review is advocated and necessary in order to maintain critical lifesaving and survival skills and to maintain a high degree of response readiness.
Course is $1125 for up to 15 members from the same department, additional members may join for $65 each.
Registration fee includes a Guidebook for each participant that will be shipped to the department for distribution. And, it includes a Course Completion Certificate issued to each participant upon successful completion of the course.
