Donna serves as the firm’s President, directing the business development, marketing, administration and customer service departments including the coordination of all training and educational programs.
As the Director of Educational Programs, she manages the logistical planning, contract negotiations, administrative details and general registration processes, working with the staff, instructors, volunteers, course participants, and clients. Coordinating course registrations with municipalities, fire and police departments, as well as the First Responders themselves, from throughout the U.S. and Internationally, Donna provides assistance with their preparation to attend Lifesaving Resources’ water and ice rescue training programs, and provides support to the 350+ authorized Instructors who conduct our training programs on behalf of their own departments. The firm’s branding, educational, marketing, and promotional materials are also designed under Donna’s direction.
It was a natural transition to join her husband, Gerry, and ‘grow the business’ as the firm expanded. With 25 years experience in the corporate world of newspaper publishing with Gannett Co., Inc. and USA TODAY, she is seasoned in all facets of advertising, production, circulation, customer service management and human resources administration. The concept of developing specialized curriculums in water rescue and aquatic safety began in Houston, TX in 1984, followed by subsequent moves to Northern Virginia, New Hampshire, then to Maine in 2011. Happy to have traded traffic for a more peaceful coastal life, Lifesaving Resources found its true home in Kennebunkport.
Donna’s creativity and penchant for interior design, lent itself well to the completed restoration project of the corporate HQ building, c. 1847, located on Sampson Cove in Cape Porpoise, ME.
